I purchased this stainless steel bottle to replace my older Brita water bottle. I was wanting this “upgrade” because my older one would leak when it was put on it’s side, and wasn’t insulated. This stainless steel bottle keeps the water, and ice if you use it, cold for a good amount of time. Overall it’s pretty simple to use and clean. But it is extremely hard to get water to come through the straw if you tighten the lid. Sounds stupid, which it is. If you slightly unscrew the lid a bit, the water flows out of the straw extremely easy. But tighten it, and it’s a no go. I don’t know if mine was defective or if there is a flaw in the new design. Either way I think it’s a good product with great intentions, but I can not recommend this particular model to anyone. I much prefer the older one despite not being double walled and stainless steel.

Don’t bother with this . The idea is great and it works for a few mouthfuls of water , however getting anything through that straw is impossible , leaving so much water left in the bottle.

So happy with this product. I wanted an insulated water bottle that could also be filtered and couldn’t find many options on the market. Eventually I ordered this from the US and am so happy with it, it feels really premium and looks great too. The taste is as you would expect from Brita and it isn’t a chore to drink from at all. I would love for the replacement filters to be in stock from UK suppliers on Amazon though!

  4. I buy stuff sometimes

One person gave a one-star review saying it was difficult to drink from this. I thought she meant in comparison to a standard water bottle. Nope!

No matter how hard I suck the straw, no water. I even adjusted the straw numerous ways, as per online posts, and it still doesn’t work. I even removed the filter and, guess what. Didn’t work then either.

What does work is the tiny hole above the straw. No shortage of water fell on my nose from there.

Maybe I received a faulty bottle. What I know for sure is that I’m returning it.

I bought this to replace a plastic Brita water bottle that uses the same charcoal filters as I have a box of unused filters. It is way better than the old one and way better than any I have had before!

What I like is that it is double skinned and keeps the water cool for ages. With the filter in place and the integral drinking straw you just suck, no tilting needed which is ideal when driving. The loop on top makes for easy carrying. There is nothing I don’t like about this.

I’ve only had this bottle for one day, so I can’t give a full, honest review. However, a lot of people were/are having trouble getting the water to come out. I had the same issue but figured it out:

If you unscrew the cap with the straw/filter attached it it, you can look up under the top and see a little lock/unlock symbol (check the picture for reference). All you have to do is screw it just a little bit in the direction that it tells you for locking it. This wasn’t made too obvious, but now it works as intended. I don’t tilt the bottle like a regular gravity-fed water bottle; just use the straw as you would a regular straw with the bottle standing vertically.

You don’t have to keep the lid screwed on less tight as other reviews have suggested. This locking into place trick should make the bottle work normally. If not, maybe there’s another issue.

Like I said, I can’t give a full on review but just wanted to help people out before they think there’s something wrong with the bottle and decide to return it!

There were mixed reviews on this insulated steel Brita water bottle so I purchased this one (steel insulated) AND the original plastic, BPA free, Brita water bottle.

I LOVE them both! The plastic one for using around home and elsewhere if it’s not going to get hot and the steel one for the insulated qualities. The downside to the insulated one is you need to put ice in it or it takes quite a long while to get cold in the frig. BUT if you put ice in it and/or wait until it gets cold in the frig, it STAYS very cold.

The mouth piece/straw works very well and is NOT hard to suck on! You need to make sure filter has been prepped (mainly having it wet but follow directions the first time using), the bottle needs to be held vertically (not tipped up) (look at where the bottom of the straw is–if there is not water under it then it cannot come up the straw. Ensure that the cover is NOT ONE TOO TIGHT (think re liquid laundry soap in large dispensing jug—as the jug empties, the cover needs to be opened more for better flow), same too with the water bottle (it shouldn’t leak). There was one review complaining that the cover hit her nose and showed a pic with it–the user did not have the cover opened as far as it goes; had it been opened fully, it would not be hitting a nose.

The Brita filter does really work thus the little extra time I took figuring out the ins/outs of the bottles, was really worth it to me. Added benefit, the bottles are easy to fit in the cup holders (sleek and slim).

Really high quality product. This bottle feels very well made, and not some cheap and nasty price of gear. It’s true that you can’t swig down water and that you need to adjust how you suck water up and through the filter, but I’ve had absolutely no problems adjusting (and I don’t kno why some feel the need to score the bottle down on points.)
My only gripe is that they’re not available to purchase in UK and I think that’s a real mixed trick as I’m sure they’d sell plenty of units. I’m glad I found this bottle and highly recommend to you.

I purchased the Brita bottle to reduce my carbon foot print and get away from disposable plastic bottles like many others. The Brita fits perfectly in my car cup holder and the treadmill at the gym. It’s also good at keeping water cold.
The Brita is not leak proof however. The vent hole dribbles water every time I turn up the bottle on my face and on my shirt. Also, with each sip, air is swollowed.
At 20 ounces, it holds slightly more than a standard 16.9 oz bottle, which is good because the stationary straw makes it nearly impossible to get the last 20% of water at the bottom of the bottle.
The recloseable cap does not bend completely back and presses against the bridge of my nose with each drink forcing me to turn my neck up.
I filled it up from my kitchen sink and was able to detect a chlorine taste. Furthermore, considering the cost, I believe a spare water filter would have been appropriate. I would not recommend it.

I love the new stainless filter bottle by brita! It was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted the temperature control and non-sweating factors of my stainless tumblers, but also needed something that wouldn’t leak everywhere. The fact that this is a filter bottle is just an added plus for me because of all the lime in the water where I live. This just makes it taste better and keeps it extra cold. It took me a while to convince myself to buy it because of the price tag, but if that’s what is holding you up, just know it’s worth it!
Edited to add: it’s super easy to clean, with no strange pieces to trap moisture and build up mold like other similar bottles.

This bottle is so pretty! I got the mint colored one and can’t wait to have it personalized with my name. I’m going on a trip soon and needed something that filters water since I can’t water through airport security. It needed to be small, waterproof, and pretty. This water bottle met all of the criterias.

Now this is the most important thing about the water bottle: drink out of it like you would with a straw. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT use it as if you’re drinking out of a plastic bottle or a sippee cup. If there’s water dripping on your nose you’re using the bottle wrong. If you have to suck really hard and all you’re getting is air you’re using the bottle wrong. Lower the bottle and then drink from it.
