Wow. Should have bought a Vitamix years ago.

I am singularly impressed with the Vitamix Ascent. I sat on the fence about a Vitamix for a while. The 5200 series with blender jar is so tall I would not be able to leave it on the counter because it would not fit under the kitchen cabinets. Some reviewers of the 5300 state it does not blend as well as the taller 5200. The E310 is much louder than all the of the other Vitamix blenders.

My prior blenders included a Ninja blender, which for $40.00 does an amazing job turning ice into snow but a Ninja cannot do what a Vitamix can. If all you want is fruit daiquiris a Ninja might be sufficient but if you want to make green smoothies and with spinach or Kale the Vitamix will make a smoothie store caliber smoothie with no clumps and a completely uniform texture. The fiber in the kale is completely broken down. There is the same amount of Kale in every sip and you can see the color of the kale but not the kale itself in the finished product. A Vitamix can do this a Ninja can’t.

I also tried a Blendtech which was a huge mistake. The blendtech had black plastic parts in the blade assembly mechanism that shredded or otherwise failed leaving little bits of black plastic in my frozen concoctions. Blendtech has power without precision. Blendtec is a Camero and the Vitamix by comparison is the Tesla Model S.

The Ascent 2300 has a stop watch style timer that shows you how long you have been blending. To get one-touch programs you will have to pay more for the 2500 model. On Black Monday there was a huge discount on the 2300 and only a small discount on the 2300, hence this purchase. Everything I have blended so far has come out perfect. This thing can turn sugar into powdered sugar or turn vegetables into hot soup. You can pay for several “almost as good” as a Vitamix blender(s) and live with the compromise for years or go “all in” once and and enjoy the best.

This is a superb commercial blender that is in a completely different class than a Kitchen Aid or Oster. Do it. You won’t regret it.

For health reasons we wanted a great blender however budget was a big consideration. We put it on our Amazon store card for 6 months financing.
We first ordered the 5300 refurbished at the price of 299.00. We instantly fell in love with it. The capabilities of these machines is amazing. However I became interested in the differences between all the models so stared my research. When the 2300 was priced at only $70 more I wondered if would be worth the small difference.
For the extra warranty (10 vs 5 ) ad a few other reason we decided to keep 2300 and return the 5300.
    Here’s why.
I want to point out something that is quite important when comparing all the vitamix models sold as home units. There is really NO differences at all in the capabilities of the machine regarding actual blending power!! If you do a search for Vitamix commercial blender on google you will get a completely different part of their website. These are the ones used in bars, commercial kitchens etc. Now these really are the expensive ones!!
Even the home use models that say Pro on them offer additional features not power. It also clearly states on the warranty cards of the home use models warranty voided if used in a commercial setting.
On to the differences why we decided on the Ascend 2300 vs the 5300. (Note that most of the actual changes of the Ascend series were based on long time Vitamix customers suggestions)
Number 1 reason was the warranty. At $70 bucks more. (the price fluctuates daily btw) its a wise financial move.
The 2300 has a quieter motor however its really only noticed at the lower numbered setting. As a huge amount of the recipes call for you to blend on setting 10 the noise level is about the same.
We prefer the positive click that you hear when attaching the lid. You feel its secure as opposed to the rubber lid of the 5300. Also the lid plug feels more positive when it secured.
Its definitely easier to read the measurements on the side of the container of the 2300. The pour spout is improved for less spillage.
As some of the recipes call for a time to blend the count up timer feature is helpful but not essential if you can look at a clock of any kind.
Probably the thing that tipped me most in favor of the 2300 regarding functionality was the lackluster reviews of the personal size adapter container for the 5300 series. It is functional but clunky and it appears that its too easy to not seal the thing correctly thus getting splattered by your mix! The Ascend personal size container is due to be released anytime now and it is a completely different design.
Hope this helps folks. Edit. I would like to point out that I had a detailed discussion with Vitamix support regarding the differences I have posted about. I am after all a truth teller!!

We purchased this blender to consolidate the Vitamix 750 Pro that we have and the NutriBullit Pro 900 into one assembly. This base was larger than expected but worked well with the bucket it came with.
Using the Blending Cup and Blending bowls with the self detect base failed miserably. It was difficult to get it to work as it had to be so tight for the magnets to trigger the motor and it also stopped working mid cycle as the cup had to be twisted even tighter.
Vitamix, great idea but this needs to go back to the drawing board for a redo!!
We LOVE the Vitamix Blenders and I highly recommend the Legacy series blenders however this Accent series certainly disappointed us.

The following lines are cut and pasted directly from the Amazon product page:

Built-In Wireless Connectivity: The motor base will automatically adjust the maximum blending times for the container size you’ve chosen. Add a range of compatible container sizes, building a customized blending system designed to fit your needs.
Pair with the Vitamix Perfect Blend AppUnlock your blender’s full potential with 17 programs and 500+ recipes with the iOS + Android app. Electrical Ratings: 120 Volts, 50-60 Hz, 12 Amps

Sounds like this unit allows wireless pairing with the app . . . not. This is a stand alone unit, the product descriptions are misleading.

Just received this item. It does not look new! Inside the box was oddly dirty then I noticed the cardboard inside was ripped already. When I took the blender base out I noticed it was all scuffed up scratched and pitted down the sides! Hard to take pictures of cause of the shine but you can see it a bit in these ones! This will be going back as no where in the ad did it say it was a refurbished item!

So there’s totally a reason for the crazy following behind the Vitamix blenders. They blend really really well. They are made really well. Really the only complaint about them is their crazy price.
We do use the 8oz container a lot, so definitely happy that we bought the Ascent series.
We also compared it to the Ninja Chef blender with the similar blade and found the Vitamix blends better (though only noticeable in very specific scenarios, typically they’re comparable), and the Vitamix is also quite a bit quieter (though it’s still pretty loud). Having said all of that, the price difference between the two doesn’t make up for the small-ish difference in performance.

Love, Love, Love, Love it. This is absolutely one of my most beloved products sitting on my kitchen counter top. I use the vitamix for making all kinds of things. Here’s a list of things which I’ve made using my vitamix:
    – Homemade Butter
    – Homemade Coconut Butter
    – Homemade Coconut Oil
    – Homemade Coconut Milk
    – Homemade Almond Milk
    – Homemade Cashew Milk
    – Homemade Peanut Butter
    – Homemade Almond Butter
    – Homemade Salsa
    – Homemade cooking bases – Spanish / Indian / Italian
    – Homemade Power Smoothies – using avocado / pineapple / kale / spinach / chia seeds / flax seeds / protein powder / mango / blueberries – (frozen or fresh)
    – Homemade Ice Cream
    – Homemade Mashed Potatoes
    – Homemade Orange Juice (without a juicer yes!! it is doable with a vitamix)

I absolutely love this product. I don’t know what I’d do without it.

Blender failed second use, so not much experiance with it, Vitamix wouldn’t replace blender as it is a US model Amazon sold me and so has mo warranty in Canada. Amazon did refund my money and send me a return shipping label. Buyer beware, always be sure you are getting a Canadian model if you want warranty!
