This is what the wiring inspector wants, so this is what the wiring inspector gets. Use these for all 12 and 14 gauge Romex wires and you’ll be a happy camper. I do not know why they won’t accept other types of staples, but they won’t: this is the correct item.

Blue installation is a great idea. Tie tends to bend out of shape when hit with a hammer. Thicker gauge steel would prevent.

RED staples were specified on job to stack two 12-2 NM cables but this was much too long and easily bent during installation. Cut it down and it worked just fine.

I was using these staples on installed paneling. The paneling created a spring type condition when hammered into place over electrical wire. Because of this condition, I didn’t experience a favorable use of this staple. Sheetrock probably would have been more favorable. Also, blue plastic insert to protect electrical wire didn’t always line up as it should have to protect electrical wire.
