Fits extremely strangely, like a high wasted man short, and digs way deep inside the butt crack.
Can’t emphasize how weirdly this short fits, and how extremely high wasted it sits, very strange fit

Before I talk buttons, the big problem is the fly. Less than a five inch opening that doesn’t end low enough toward the crotch. Most openings are 6 inches. Standing at the facility becomes an unbecoming fishing expedition. I cope by giving the shorts a downward yank to position the fly properly.
Now, Some reviewers have noted buttons coming off. I think it is because these are thick buttons being pushed through regular holes. The sewing is average to good on these shorts but they should double up on the button threads. Better yet, they should have buttons with beveled edges. I guess they got a good deal on the fat buttons they used.
Otherwise: -YKK zipper. Small teeth, but still YKK. -5 belt loops seems to be the new standard; sigh. -standard number of pickets: 6. -size as advertised, or maybe a little over, at least for my 33″ waist.
A good value for the price if you leave the pockets unbuttoned.
A Note: the lower front pockets have a double flap concealing the buttons. and they are doubly tough to open but very secure. Pickpockets beware.

I was a little bit worried since some of the reviewers claim that the buttons fall off easily, hard to open or bigger than the waist size advertised. I bought 3 cargo shorts red, blue and khaki and very happy I did. Built solid, not flap and sits a little above the knee and semi flexible not a super tight fit and im a waist 36, 6’1. I can use them without a belt and the colors are nice and not overly flash or to bright.
Blue looks like a jean blue color, red is slight red, not blood red or overly bright. At a glance they look like regular cargo shorts and do not look cheap but well made. I normally buy 38 so that I can use a belt with them, but was getting annoyed of not being able to use them without a belt that I went for exact size fit and was surprised they dont hug the stomach and better fit overall. Less of a baggy effect but still loose on the sides/waist.
Will buy more colors next months.

Excellent shorts for $15. I typically will wear anywhere between a 38 and a 40 in most brands. I ordered a 42 in these as I would rather be too big than too small. The 42 fit about like a 40 in Levis to me, plenty of room. I would advise ordering a size up or so. The pockets are deep. Fits great in the legs and butt. I will definitely buy more as needed.

I have purchased many active shirts and dress shirts from Amazon Essentials line but this is my very first pants/shorts and I’m not surprised I’m loving this cargo short.
I’m 5’11” 170 lbs and this cargo short comes just short above my knees, which is perfect.
Please note that this is a classic fit, which means it’s not a baggy and wide on the bottom.
The fabric is 100% cotton so it’s very comfortable and light compared to my other cargo pants.
I see that many people are complaining about the quality and durability of this cargo shorts. I only wore it twice so I guess the time will tell and I will update my review if my opinion on the quality of this short changes.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this cargo shorts.

Fifth time I wore them the button ripped out of wallet side of the shorts. I’ve never had this happen before and my wallet is rather thin. I took my time getting around to sewing it back on and realized there was a hole in the pocket. Now it’s too late to return them!!
Everything about the shorts are sturdy. But the button appears to have been sewn so much that it tore up the fabric.

I have been pleased with these shorts so far. The cut of them is nice – hits slightly above my knee (29” waist shorts, 5’5” human), not overly baggy. The silhouette is trim, not bulky, which modernizes these shorts just enough. I purchased the green/brown camo, and the colors and pattern are nice.
The fabric is lighter weight than most cargo shorts tend to be made of; this is great for when it’s really hot out, tho it remains to be seen how this may affect durability. They’re living an extremely hard life with me – I am a professional automotive mechanic, and these things see tons of abuse every time I wear them. Grease, oil, fluids and chemicals of all kinds, as well as abrasion. They’re washed hot once a week. I’ll definitely report back on how they hold up in the long run — this is obviously not an ideal environment for them to be in haha.
My only gripes are:
1) There’s no 28 waist. Why Amazon (and so many other brands tbh) chose to exclude this commonly-worn size from their run of sizes is beyond me. It ignores the market of young persons and those who are smaller-framed. The 29 waist got a little smaller after its first hot wash shrank it slightly, bringing the item from “return” to “fits well enough with a belt for wearing at work.”
2) The front pockets are SO deep, that if you clip, say, a penlight, sharpie, and pen into the top corner of the cargo pocket, and have your smartphone in the front pocket of the same side, the two items will bang together annoyingly when you walk. I’m sure most folks will not run into this issue (I don’t carry the light/marker/pen when not at work), but it is something to be aware of.

As a girl, I hate that your only options for shorts are generally skin tight, very short and with tiny or no pockets. These are the opposite, and exactly what I wanted. Amazing quality especially for such a reasonable price, huge deep pockets and come down to the knee. Even after many washes they were still in good nick. After one day of wearing them I’d already ordered a second pair and my girlfriend had also ordered some! For any girls who are considering buying these – I’m a size 10 trousers and the 29 fits perfectly, whilst my girlfriend is a 14 and the 33 was perfect for her.

You get what you pay for. My husband loves these types of shorts for work. He usually wears Lee’s but he wanted to try these because of the price, so he ordered a few pairs. They were an excellent fit, however, he came home from work the first day wearing them and he had a massive tear in the back pocket. Those went in the trash. Wore another pair the next day and he came home with a huge tear in the front, those went in the trash. Both tears were way beyond repair.

I must admit I was surprised on how good quality is of these shorts. I wanted something to wear in the hot weather while gardening and not show the marks. The material is really tough and the additional pockets come in handy. The only trouble is, my wife has got her eye on them so looks like I’m going to have to buy extra pair.

I simply don’t understand this. Amazon’s guide for the product said go for a size down as they’re a big fit for the size. So I did that, and sure enough, too small. What on earth is the point in that? They shouldn’t stock gear which isn’t accurately sized, I see no reason why clothes shouldn’t be made properly, with correct sizing? Now wasted another hour as website has a bug and locker drop-off for return not selectable (spent ages on phone while they looked into it and got nowhere).
Product seemed fine, quality looked fine at a glance, but no idea of durability as naturally I’m returning them.

I bought these shorts with trepidation due to the vastly differing reviews on Amazon. Some said they were far too small and some said miles too big. One reviewer even said they were cut funny and cut into his bum crack uncomfortably. My son really needed something similar for work and I couldn’t find a pair of black cargo shorts anywhere else so in the end I just went for it and ordered his normal size with my fingers crossed that they would fit OK.
When they arrived he was out so I laid them up against another pair of his shorts, bought from Tesco that I knew fitted him well and the waistband was EXACTLY the same size and sure enough, when he came home and tried them on, they fitted him fine. He always wears a size 30 inch waist which is a fraction loose on him but he uses a belt and prefers them comfy. I asked him if they cut anywhere or were loose anywhere else and he did a few Ninja type moves in them to demonstrate that they were not uncomfortable, did not cut into him or restrict his movement in any way. They are not made from a stretchy fabric but the material is very nice and the shorts look smart, despite the pockets on the leg. There is no sag or loss of shape if you use the pockets, provided they are not over-loaded.
So, if you are thinking about buying these shorts and are put off by the contradicting reviews, I would just go for it. Different retailers have different ideas about sizing and some cut stingily and others generously so I would just buy your normal size and have a little faith.

I love these shorts. I was aware of the difficult buttons before I bought the shorts because they were mentioned by other reviewers, but that can be easily remedied by sewing on a couple strips of Velcro.
The shorts are very comfortable. Although they’re men’s shorts & I’m a woman, I needed a pair of really practical & comfortable shorts to wear biking & hiking. Women’s pants don’t have useable pockets because they’re made to show off our butts, not hold cell phone, keys, etc. I’m way past the age of hoping to look cute, so am totally pleased with my new shorts!
