I don’t have artificial nails, so at first i wasn’t sure if this would be useful for me. It just so happens I’ve been using it SO MUCH! It’s lightweight, sleek, and made so well. Holds a charge for a long time (it even came with a charge). I’ve used other MelodySusie drills in the past, but so far this is my favorite. I use some of the smaller metal bits to clean under my nails and tidy up my cuticles, and i’ve used the heavier grits to file down my gel polish before soaking it off. Cleans up nail edges well. I wouldn’t use this on kids though…. it can get going pretty fast and actually gets really hot if you stay on the same spot for too long (i say this only because I was tempted to use it to file my todder’s nails one day, when I couldn’t find his baby electric nail file. Glad i didn’t use it!).
Great price for a high quality drill. Looks like something I would see at a salon. Hope this helps! 🙂

I am a nail enthusiast and have been doing my own acrylic nails at home for years. My old drill died and I saw this one while browsing Amazon. I immediately fell in love with the idea of a completely cordless efile. Everything about it is great so far except for a major flaw I’ve mentioned below. There’s a little vibration in the handle but not to the extent that its uncomfortable to use. But unfortunately there’s a big con with this efile, there are only 3 adjustment speeds. Honestly that bummed me out. The lowest speed is so low that if you apply any pressure at all it will stop spinning, so that really only allows for medium and high speed which is definitely not ideal for using on natural nails. I really had high hopes for this efile.

I love this drill. I’m a licensed tech and rpm is fast enough for removal. I almost didn’t think it was rotating that fast because of the special body that keeps it from vibrating. I don’t think I’ll ever use another drill again. This is my second purchase from Melody Susie. I had a Scamander that lasted for 4 good years, which is why I wanted the Atena. Buy this!

This is a nice nail drill. It is sturdy and appears to be well made. Easy to use and comfortable to hold. It runs smoothly and quietly, and without much vibration. Pretty easy to lock or unlock the drill bit with a twist on the textured ring on the front part of the drill.
There are 3 buttons on the drill pen: a power button (press & hold to turn on/off), a speed control buttion (press to cycle through the 3 available speeds), and a forward/reverse button (press to switch the rotational direction of the drill). There are also 3 LED indicators to show the current speed setting. Charging is done through the USB-C port on the opposite side of the button controls.
The only issue I have with this drill is that the slowest speed is still plenty fast. I would have preferred a knob on the top of the drill to steplessly control the speed. I would be great to be able to further dial down the speed of the drill for more delicate work.
The drill comes with a nice variety of nail drill bits and sanding bands. The drill bits are encased in 2 plastic containers while most of the sanding bands are loose in a little ziplock bag. A USB-C charging cable is also provided.
All in all, this is a nice nail drill complete with a good, basic set of drill bits and sanding bands. It works pretty well but could use some improvement on speed control. Other than that, it gets the job done.

The media could not be loaded.
It’s was running smooth no vibration fast speed to remove gel polish quickly convenient no wires to work around manicure or pedicure.

This is a decent quality, portable rechargeable electric nail drill. There’s no case included, but everything can be stored in the box it came in, if so desired. There’s a good selection of drill bits (listed below) that are quite easy to install on the drill. There’s a bonus barrel bit that’s much higher quality than the standard fare. I must say the selection of drill bits is better than usual. The bits do lock in by rotating the buckle after inserting a select drill bit. No problems there and the bits locked in well and didn’t shift.
Operation is intuitive, but there’s a bit of a learning curve. There is a fairly comprehensive user manual, good, but not great. The nail file is very solid and easy to use. It can be charged via a USB cord (no wall charger). I can select the speed I want (up to 28000RPM), however there’s no LED indicator letting me know where I’m at. a bit of practice, I was able to not only change those drill bits, vary the direction of the bits, and
The nail file / drill probably isn’t for professional use, but I’d say it would be a good option for anyone who wants to touch up those nails at home. There are accessories, but no stand, which I would have liked. The entire setup is good, but could be better. It’s a bit pricy for what you’re getting as there’s only 28000RPM, but that’s offset with better bits. With just a few additions, the drill would be much more expensive.
