This charger does what it’s supposed to do except in my 2021 F350 when I plug in the MagSafe charger into the USB C port of the truck, the Ford Sync App says this is an unrecognized device. This isn’t the fault of the Schsche Magic Mount, it’s a USB recognition problem between APPLE and Ford when using the MagSafe Charger Cable.
Just be for-warned…that this holder will work, but your Apple Car Play will not.

This worked for me but the extending arm piece of the holder was not included in the package. Fitted onto my existing Scosche glued-on ball mount so it worked for me because I had enough space for the phone to fit. Misleading though.

This is hands down the best looking phone mount I have ever put in my car.
It looks fantastic and his a SOLID hold on the phone. It charges vary fast and is the best functioning mount I’ve used. It’s 90% of what I’ve wanted in a car mount for my phone since I got my first non charging magic mount from Scosche. The MagSafe charger really grabs things and no bumpy road is going to knock your phone loose. Love that.
The suction cup is ultra sticky just like every other Scosche magic mount I’ve ever bought. I’ve never had a Scosche mount fall off anything or lose suction. Once you put it where you want it, it takes some reasonable effort to get it loose again.
The only flaw is due to the MagSafe charging puck. If your car has been sitting in the sun for awhile the metal ring around the puck gets HOT and won’t charge until your your AC cools it off a bit.

This is my second scoche car mount. first was a suction cup base like this but had a magnetic plate that used a metal sticker on your phone or case to mount. i really liked that set up. so when i upgraded to the iphone 13 pro i needed a new holder. What i really wanted was just a conversion piece to upgrade my old mount to mag safe mount. well scoche doesnt make that a separate pice, so i got this set up.
Cons –
-A little pricey for just a mage safe holder (Is basically useless unless you add a mage safe charger)
-Yes, does not charge your phone or hold it, unless you buy an apple mag safe charger seperate
-Maybe a little nit picky but my iphone 13 pro with otter box symmetry series + case. doesnt sit completely flush easily as the camera bump is really close to the mag safe magnet. it can sit flush, but you have to finesse it.
Pros –
-Suction cup set up
-Adjustability , can be configured for multiple applications

Know what you’re getting. This requires purchasing the Apple MagSafe charger as well. It provides a form to put the charger into and has options included for either a vent mount or dash mount attachment. I’ve only used the vent mount. The mechanism of attaching to the vent itself could be improved – I’ve seen more secure attachments, though your mileage will vary depending on the size and shape of your car’s vent. I find I have to press it back in place every now and then as it slips slowly through vibrations and mounting/unmounting over time. However, it works well enough.
Other than that, it’s great. Having the arm that allows you to position the phone away from the vent and give you some up/down position flexibility is awesome. For iphone12 the MagSafe works well at securing the phone while also charging. It’s an amazingly easy way to mount and unmount the phone while getting a charge at the same time.
Would be nice to not to buy a charger separately, but if you want a MagSafe approved device your options are pretty limited at this time.

The product is wonderful. I only have 2 issues with it.
#1 – No charging unit at all for $37.00. This is ONLY the holder and suction cup.
#2 – You must use an APPLE BRAND CAR CHARGER!!.
I tried using multiple competitors MagSafe chargers with NO success. None would fit the holder.

The short arm is stable and there is little to adjust on the mount. Fit perfectly in my Wife’s Nissan Juke, which due to the steep angle on the windshield, made it difficult to find a phone mount that wouldn’t eventually fall off due to leverage. The phone stays on solidly due to the official magsafe charger in the mount. Yes, you do need to buy an apple magsafe charger separately, but it’s better performing with an iPhone with zero question about compatibility!

First, you have to realize this is not a charger and mount all in one. This is the mount only, and comes with a 12 volt plug-in for the MagSafe puck. The MagSafe puck is purchased separately and then snaps into this car mount. If you look up a true MagSafe car charger all in one you’ll find that there is maybe one aftermarket company that makes one. For whatever reason, no one seems to make one. This is the best alternative, and actually shows the MagSafe animation on the phone when you put it on to charge. The 12 volt charge adapter provides the full 20 watts for the MagSafe puck so that it performs properly. I’m very happy with this purchase, cause I understood what I was getting.

One star deducted for inoperative / unserviceable USB C cigarette lighter charger. I used a higher wattage charger I happened to already have. Will attempt to sort out with Amazon/Scosche.
Otherwise, a very solid Magsafe compatible mount for an iPhone 13.
– Scosche unit mounts solidly to windscreen with suction (lever actuated).
– Apple MagSafe charger (sold separately) mounts precisely and securely inside Scosche unit (friction fit + small amount of adhesive tape).
– Rock solid magnetic phone-to-mount attachment when using either an Otterbox case (iPhone 13 Aneu Series Case with MagSafe) or Pitaka case (MagEZ Case 2 for iPhone 13). Mounting is slightly assisted because the camera bump lips on these cases protrude 1mm or so, and partially sit on top of the Scosche mount.
– I’ve only used the naked (no case) iPhone 13 on the mount once, seemed fine.

What I like about this product is it uses the MagSafe charger for convenience and quick charging. That’s about it.
I thought for the $30 sum bucks that I paid, The unit would have come with a few extra magnets to accompany the MagSafe charger for a better hold, barely holds up when you bump it, bumpy roads?, forget about it, and heaven forbid the plastic ball mount take any kind of torque, less than a week and it snapped right off trying to make an adjustment, subzero temp rated? It does go in a car, I’d hope so. But worthless garbage now. Back to the old scosche I suppose.
