I’ll start by saying that I have very fine, thin hair. My scalp tends to get pretty oily after two days, but my ends are incredibly dry. This shampoo is not for me, but is a good shampoo.
Not sure what the scent is – you get some apple, but seems like it’s a little floral too. It’s not off-putting but also not my favorite scent.
Didn’t lather that much for me, which is fine. My ends were not dry out of the shower (perfect), nor was my scalp oily (also great), but I found it weighed down my fine hair too much for my liking.
Bottle states that this shampoo is made in the USA. Shampoo bottle doesn’t come with a seal. You press the lid down on one end to pour it out.
I’d recommend this shampoo to people that have thick or curly hair, but not those with fine hair like myself. At $20 for a bottle, the price is quite high for what I would consider average performance.

My hair is very straight, with a lot of coarse hair mixed in with “regular” thickness hair. Japanese hair at its finest. I remember the manufacturer Zotos back from when I used to get perms, since that is the only way my hair can have any body or curl. That was a long time ago, but they are still there making salon quality products. I like that this shampoo doesn’t have a lot of the things that I try to avoid: SLSs, parabens, mineral oil, and more. It does lather up just fine even though it is biodegradable, which I love. Of course I chose it because it is color-safe. I have been coloring my hair for 15 years, to keep it looking the natural dark brown/ black that it is supposed to be. Yes this shampoo is quite fragrant, but I don’t have a problem with it. It doesn’t smell botanical, but more floral to me. This bottle came wrapped in a plastic bag wrapped around it, that was sealed shut, which was good because inside the bag, the shampoo leaked all over the place. Overall this is a nice shampoo that doesn’t have things in it that I don’t want, so I am really enjoying it.

Boy, when they say “moisturizing” here, they mean it! This shampoo is so moisturizing in fact that I did not use conditioner after shampooing. I literally can’t remember the last time I did that. I did end up using the leave-on conditioner after I combed my hair out, but I typically cannot just comb through this mess of waves and thick hair unless I have conditioner in may hair. So, the product is really good if you need moisture!
The fragrance is “ok”. It’s nothing special, as I would hope for a mid-priced shampoo. It’s a fruity/botanical (maybe?) green apple fragrance. Fine, but a fragrance you can find in any drug store brand. You’re definitely paying for the performance of the product and not the fragrance/shower experience.
Overall, good shampoo for thick, dry, wavy/curly hair!

It is a good shampoo. It has a thick, creamy consistency and produces a rich lather. It cleans my hair very well, leaving it soft and shiny. I like that it doesn’t over-dry my scalp. It feels nice and clean. However, the shampoo is heavily scented. It is sweet, somewhat fruity and floral but probably strong enough to bother some people who are sensitive to fragrance.
I like that the shampoo is vegan, color safe, and is based on a biodegradable formula. It is mostly made with naturally-derived ingredients. No harsh chemicals. Free of phthalates, parabens, silicone, gluten, mineral oil, and dyes.
The only issue I have with this shampoo is the packaging. It has a disc cap on the bottle but not sealed. Mine had the disc partially popped up during shipping. Needless to say, a small portion of the content leaked out and made a mess in the mailer. It could have easily solved with a sealing tape over the disc, or better yet a foil seal under the cap.
Overall, I quite like this shampoo. It cleans well and leaves my hair soft and shiny. It doesn’t over-dry my hair nor my scalp. No harsh chemicals but contains fragrance. Though it could use a better packaging to prevent leaking during shipping. Anyway, a good shampoo.

*This review is for Better Natured’s Moisturizing Shampoo ONLY. I received the shampoo to test/review*
I wash my hair daily and that includes using conditioner. When I use Better Natured’s Moisturizing Shampoo, I don’t need to use conditioner. This is not a 2-in-1 shampoo + conditioner product but it sure works like one. The shampoo is nice and creamy. Despite being a tad thick, it is easy to work into hair and just as easy to rinse. I use an amount roughly the size of a nickel to adequately wash my thick, shoulder length hair. Lathers quickly. Leave my hair silky soft, very well-hydrated, bouncy and something it normal lacks: shine. I very much love the scent of this shampoo though I can no longer detect it a few hours after use. The price of the shampoo is reasonable seeing as not much is needed for each use and it delivers great results. I will continue to purchase and use this shampoo and absolutely recommend it.

This is just shampoo and no conditioner. It is supposed to be a moisturizing shampoo but I found it to be super cleansing and I had to use my own conditioner after washing with this. Also, the fragrance is SUPER INTENSE. I love fragrance but the aroma is just okay but very strong and I do not care for that. It lathers extremely well, cleanses well, and leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean. I have short to medium fine curly hair and it did not weigh down my curls. Had the fragrance been better and the product was what it claimed to be (shampoo and conditioner), this would have gotten 5 stars.
The current price of $16 ($20 minus 20%) for a 10.1 fluid ounce bottle is on the high side of competitively priced.
