    Pros:
The lights at the front head.

    Cons: the suction is horrible.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!! We bought the dyson animal v10 and I will never go back, it doesn’t come close to my cordless dyson.

Long-haired dogs with a minimum of three to four walks a day, do bring in debris. My home is constantly in need of vacuuming. Being a senior, my old heavy machine was becoming unwieldy. The shape of one of the tools was also too wide to get into tight crevices.

With the Shark IZ462H, if there is any bits and pieces that have been brought in from the dog walk, I simply reach for the hand held section and instantly the mess is gone. I use it now to clean up the fallen flowers on my back porch and even remove the stamens from lilies without risking staining. Engaging the extra force button facilitates this.

Nor can I believe how long the battery lasts. It is also relatively quiet. This is an amazing vacuum that stores so easily too. The clear dust container allows you to see how effective it in action. I love having my home once again looking its best.

I’ll start off by saying I was really, REALLY looking forward to this vacuum. I watched multiple video reviews about this vacuum and the “DouClean” tech, and I thought it seemed simply amazing, genius even, and figured it would be the best vacuum in the world. However, I quickly found there was one MAJOR flaw with this vacuum that completely ruins the whole thing: static shock.

The static electricity buildup in the vacuum is immensely amplified due to the soft roller in the DouClean tech and there is no proper dispersion of this static electricity, leaving your hand to get shocked every few seconds when using it. The shocks seem to get stronger and stronger as well and by the 4th or 5th time this happened to me in a row, after just a few minutes of vacuuming, I was genuinely scared to use it any longer. My girlfriend wouldn’t even touch the thing after getting shocked just once.

So I stopped for a while, tried to charge it hoping that would ground it or something and get rid of the problem, but after multiple tries I just could not get the thing to stop shocking me. There is a tiny metal plate in the handle as well which is supposed to help with the static dispersion by keeping you grounded, but the thing is a complete joke. The plate is so tiny that 2 fingers will barely even fit on it at the same time and it is so flush with the handle that you have to hold it with a strong grip just to keep your fingers on it, making it almost stressful to vacuum knowing that as soon as you lift a finger you’ll get shocked. Then even when your fingers are on the plate firmly, it will still shock you from time to time! If the plate was like three times as long, twice as wide, and protruded from the handle like a fourth of an inch or so, it might not have been completely useless.

I see this flaw as a MAJOR oversight, which could even end up causing a health problem for someone. The shocks hurt after just a few times, and they make using the vacuum incredibly uncomfortable and stressful. Like I said, I was really looking forward to this vacuum, and the DouClean tech and hair wrap removal fins did really seem to work wonderfully, but I just don’t want to be in fear of getting shocked constantly while using this. I was incredibly disappointed and sad this had such a major flaw. If they ever make a new model or a change that fixes this issue, I would definitely try it again. But until then, I cannot recommend this vacuum to anyone.

I wanted to love this vacuum so much specifically because of the power fins. I have long hair that falls out like crazy and I was so sick of having to cut the hair out of my vacuums weekly. That was the most appealing thing about this vacuum. It worked really great and hair never got stuck in it. It worked just as well on hardwood as on carpet. UNFORTUNATLEY it will shock you about every 30 seconds and each shock is stronger than the last. Everything about this vacuum was perfect except for getting shocked. I was hoping it was just a fluke so I returned mine and reordered another. I was pretty disappointed to see that the second one did the exact same thing (just like other reviews stated). I wish Shark would fix this because I loved everything else about this but it’s just not worth getting shocked over.

it is on the heavy side, even when using it as a handheld … but you get great suction, and a large canister. It picks up hair and dust without issue. Love the 2 batteries and the charging stand is perfect. The weight becomes noticeable when using it as a handheld for a long period because of the weight but then I know I’m not going to get the same performance from other units. Had the Tineco Master and returned it immediately (lack of power), bought this to replace my Dyson handheld, this Shark is more powerful.

After returning a ‘basic’ and then a ‘mid’ unit, I purchased the high-end machine. The first two did not have a removable battery, meaning that when the battery ultimately failed, I would either have to ship the entire unit for repair or trash it. Additionally, in order to complete 50-55 min. of floor vacuuming in one go, I require not one battery, but two. Why? First, because although advertised as a 60 minute battery, this only applies when the vacuum handheld; ie. not attached to the floor portion AND run on the lowest (eco) setting. The realistic charge length for this battery used to vacuum bare floors on mid-power is 40 minutes. Second, you should never run the battery down to zero charge, nor charge it completely. This decreases its lifetime. Running each battery from 80-20% charge is preferable, which means each battery should be used for no more than 30 minutes. Hence, 2 batteries are required to a 50-55 min. job.
As others have warned, there’s a learning curve with respect to the various button placements, because they change when the vacuum is folded vs upright. So it’s easier than you think to release the dust cannister and drop it to the ground, when you intend to release the lock which unfolds the machine!
My only concern with the Shark line is that models change so frequently that I doubt whether replacement batteries will be available in 4-5 years, when these finally expire.

First of all, wtf is thickness in reference to a vacuum.
Anyway, I have one of the original DuoClean Ion vacuums. It still works in a house with ten dogs and two parrots. I love it’s functionality and attachments. With that said, I was hoping this vacuum would be very close to that. My main points of irritation are that you can’t remove the floor attachment with your foot. I have to vacuum daily. I need to be able to make quick work of it too. I also have to switch between attachments frequently. Am I vacuuming my a hole parrot’s food off the floor? Am I cleaning dust from an air purifier. I gots to do it all. This thing is kind of a pain to use in that regard. Also, the pictures just show that the roller has silicone fins which I was super excited about as I have hair down to my arse and I get sick of digging it out of my vacuums. That isn’t accurate. It has the fins and brushes. The mere inconsistency between the picture and the product irked me. But I’d still be digging my hair out of it.
It doesn’t pick up from the sides of the floor attachment as well as my older sucker. I gave it one solid try last night and I was just “meh.” And I’m not paying $300 for meh. Just packed it up to send it on back. It would be fine for someone with maybe 3-5 pets and no parrot food being scattered about by a feathered d bag.
For a lot of heavy work, the DuoClean Ion with the gold handle is the jam.

I wanted this vacuum so badly, and was so disappointed when I finally got it because of the static elasticity shocks when using on carpeting. The metal grounding plate is way too small, and it turns out that my hand was coming ever so slightly off of it when I was vacuuming, so I was getting shocked all the time. It was awful and I almost returned it.

BUT, then I switched the way I hold the handle, my wrist placement, so the flat part of my middle finger was on constant contact with the grounding plate (not the side of my finger like before, which caused disconnection issues), & the problem is completely solved.l! Love this vacuum.

    Pros:
    – Less noisy than most other cheaper vacuums.
    – Headlight lets you see all the dirtiness.
    – Good battery life and it’s removable.
    – Easy stand by itself and on the wall thanks to the flex and rubber on the handle.
    – Duo brushes help clean a tad easier without worries of hair entanglement.
    – Simple yet complete accessories.

    Cons:
    – A bit heavy.
    – Mostly in winter you will get static charge due to the rolling brushes on the hard floor and it will shock on the fingers at the grip of the handle. So sometimes I have to wear a glove when vacuuming.
