This is an excellent set at an awesome price, it’s very well made. I am a mechanic of 45 years, I own mostly Snap-on tools but I have employee’s that borrow tools, so I keep less expensive sets on hand for loaning. One socket from snap-on cost what this entire set cost, this is a steal for such a nice set and a case included, you can’t beat it. I like this set myself and use it often. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more tools in this line. Highly recommend

This socket set seems to be very good quality. We’ll begin with the first thing you’ll lay hands on when you order these — the case.

The case is made of plastic, as expected, but it doesn’t seem to be as thick as the cases from competing brands that I’ve owned. You can actually see where some of the socket slots are through the top lid. This raises the question of durability, something that only time can truly test. I’ll update here later if the case develops cracks or anything of that nature. Moving on though, the latches on the case are very sturdy, making me very confident that the case will stay closed. There’s one glaring issue with them though — they are too close to the ground to be able to open them when the case is laying down on its back. I managed to smash my finger between the case and the floor trying to open both latches, and I don’t consider myself to have abnormally large hands. This means the best way to open the case is to set it up, unlatch it, and then lay it down to open it. Not a big deal, but still annoying considering the sockets could fall out if the case opened up between the time you unlatch it and getting it laid down. The biggest issue I have with the case as a whole though is that there’s no handle on it. The set weighs a good amount, so having a handle on it would have been ideal.

Let’s move on to the actual sockets themselves. The sockets start out at 3/8” and go all the way up to 1 1/2”. They are pretty smooth and each one has the brand and its size stamped on the side. Inspecting the sockets, I did notice a few imperfections in some of them (I included a picture of one such imperfection). Other than that, the sockets seem to be good quality, made of a thick metal, and works great with 1/2” impact wrenches. Beware that these are the shallow sockets though and that a wrench is not included in the set, so if you are needing a deep socket or don’t have a 1/2” wrench then you’ll need to purchase additional tools.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with these sockets. They are very hefty and seem like they won’t have any trouble holding up to the day to day stuff I run into around the house, although there are a few improvements that could be made to the case design. With the price and the range of sizes available in this set, I’ll give it a 4/5 for now and update later if something changes.

Just by looking at the quality of the box you know youre getting quality tools. The box is really sturdy except it does not have a carry handle, not a big deal breaker, but it would be useful becuase the set is heavy. Should be ok if you plan on having this box inside a bigger toolbox.

At first glance, the tools themselves look well made, but time will tell. I will update in a few months

Bonus: the sockets come pre-sprayed with wd-40 to protect from corrosion (instructions say to spray often, just like any tool really) and the instructions themselves are printed on a waxed paper, just thought this was a nice touch because otherwise they would tear easily. they didnt cheap out on paper or plastic, so i assume they also went high quality on the metal

I work on quite a few old tractors and really like this impact set which goes from 3/8″ all the way to 1 1/2″ by 16ths. Some of those larger sizes are pretty uncommon but always nice to have when you need them. All the sockets have laser etched sizes (and the DENALI logo) on one side with stamped in sizes on the other side … except the 1″ and 1 1/8″ sockets which somehow the stamping guy at the factory in China missed. I’ve noticed on some cheaply made impact sockets, the steel can be pretty rough. These have a nice smooth finish with no little nicks. Each socket has a side hole. The spring-loaded ball bearing on one side of the turning tool’s square drive, locks into this drive socket side hole. This prevents the socket from falling off. These sockets do not have internal notches or grooves inside the square drive socket.

Maybe one of the things that I appreciate most about these sockets is the box. First off it is sturdy and well made. It needs to be. This is a weighty set. The latches are sturdy and work well. Much better and more long lasting than the typical snap-in-place style. Also, the socket just lay securely in their indentations. They can more easily be removed because they don’t have to snap into some tight slot. But best of all, there is no a lot of wasted space in this case. This keeps everything much more compact and more easily stored.

Over the years, I had accumulated several sockets sets, but, as I found out the hard way, none had sizes past 7/8”. So when I mounted a hitch with a 1” bolt, was stuck with using an adjustable wrench. What would have taken 30 seconds with a ratchet if I had had the correct size socket, took 5 minutes or more.
With that experience in mind, I got this set. It works well. It has the larger sizes that I need. The case is quality and the coating seems like it will prevent corrosion.
