#Fail – Ghost flushes if the seal is not properly set on an angled flush valve seat.
Pros
-cheap
-aesthetics good
-works if the products lasts
Cons:
-The blue coating on the valve adapter develops bumpy air pockets through time which leads to ghost flushing. For me it happened twice inside half a year.
Workaround:
Ensure sure the seal is secure with plumbers putty for a tight fit. If it happens again, clean/dry the adapter (if it is still in good condition), clean the valve seat throroughly and apply fresh putty when installing.
Conclusion:
Got sick of the repetitive work around. I just went with the updated Fluidmaster duo flush valve kit and replaced the valve seat with a flat Fluidmaster version. So far, so good.

I have since learned how to use the handle and now the unit works great! To operate the quick flush the handle must be depressed quickly and not be held down. Then the water flow will be as set by the blue float which can be adjusted. The instructions did not specify how long to depress the handle so it was by trial and error for me. But the unit works fine. Before I discovered the secret, I called the supplier and explained my problem. Their Tech Support then sent me a replacement for the flush valve unit without hesitation. When I got the unit to work right, I called back to cancel the replacement, but it had already been shipped. They simply said to keep the replacement. No cost to me. Now that is excellent customer service.

I followed assembly directions explicitly, but after all together I could not make any quick flush adjustments. The toilet will only do a full flush every time. There are no leaks and the tank does fill with no problems. Must be something sticking in the float to not allow water adjustments. Probably will have to return which is a shame after all the work required to assemble.

Love this unit. Bought one for our primary bathroom and then two weeks later bought one for our other bathroom. Huge difference in the amount of water used and how much time it takes the tank to recycle.
Overall installation was a snap. The longest part of the process is figuring out the water levels for the minimum and maximum floats, which is just trial and error. When retrofitting on older tanks, try setting the blue float half an inch below the water and the green slider all the way up, and check from there.
I can confirm that it works on a slanted and flat flush valves (the part that the old flapper sits on).
One tip: If the minimal flush isn’t working correctly (such as you have to hold it down to flush), make sure the blue float is half an inch below the water line.

First off, installation is so much easier if you watch a video, there is a clip on YouTube from This Old House you can search for, and The manufacturer has a video on the product page for this. Watch one or both of these videos before your start.
That said, I have no real plumbing experience but I was able to install this in about 20 minutes, and another 10 minutes or so to calibrate for the proper flush. Once done, everything works perfectly, even when replacing the old ball cock style system like I had. Can’t wait to see what it does to my water bill. I think people really underestimate how much money they needlessly flush down the toilet.

Ok. BEFORE you buy, check and make sure the 20 or so jets under the lip of the toilet aren’t clogged. THIS WILL DRASTICALLY CHANGE YOUR OPINION OF THIS TYPE OF PRODUCT. I know from experience. I was pretty upset installing it on a 30 year old toilet. It’s a very clean toilet, but little did I know, half of the jets were clogged with calcium.
When you flush, the water should quickly dump into the toilet at an even downward force. 9 of the 20 jets had a minimum stream of water coming out.
When the water saving flush was being used, the bowl wouldn’t empty until the 3rd or 4th flush. When i had it adjusted to where it did flush, it was using about 3/4 of the tank. I couldn’t figure it out until after hours of research. I then poured hot CLR down the bowl fill spout and tried to open the jets. Let sit for 5 minutes, scrubbed the jets with a pipe cleaning wire brush, then flush out the toilet a few times. This didn’t get rid of all the calcium, but immediately helped the jet flow.
I then adjusted again. The original parts in the toilet took 1 minute and 25 seconds to fill. The water saver now takes 43 seconds to fill, and full flush takes one minute and 30 seconds to fill.
On our basement toilet that is rarely used, and is like new, takes 15 seconds to fill on water saver flush, and 46 seconds to fill on a regular flush.
I suggest this product, but before you have extremely high expectations, look at there condition of your toilets jets.

This is an excellent kit to convert your existing toilet over to a dual flush system. Please note that there is no tank gasket replacement included in this kit so if your toilet is leaking due to an old gasket at the tank you will need to go out and purchase that separately and install it prior to installing this kit. It may seem like a no-brainer but it is not explicitly written in the description of this product and you could find yourself installing this new fancy flush system and still have a leaky toilet. Whether you have a leaky toilet or not, prior to installing/retrofitting your toilet with this type of system it is advisable that you replace the tank gasket bolts and all to ensure that you have totally refreshed your toilet so that you will have peak performance for years to come.
