The JW4 speaks well in the mid to high range of the marimba, yet retains the warm, rich sound of this series of mallets
Length: 17″ Head Size: 1.4 x 1.70″
The JW4 features a rubber-like synthetic core wrapped tightly with durable synthetic yarn on a lacquered birch shaft for a smooth finish with maximum strength
Durable enough for outdoor environments, but the lush tone of these mallets is an appropriate and tasteful choice for indoor concert or marching settings

It gives out a really nice sound quality when I play it on my marimba. It gives a very rich tone, and it can handle most of my mistakes such as accidentally tapping away from the keys. The string is very strong. It has not break and loosen after wear and weathered.

I would describe these more as a medium-hard, but they’re the ideal solo mallets. They articulate well, but also have the ability to roll and play at quieter because of the fuzzy exterior. Fairly durable as well. These are perfect for a solo player or in an indoor ensemble. Wouldn’t recommend for marching activities though, except maybe on a low-end of a marimba.
