I AM IMPRESSED!!! wow, and I’m a brush snob no lie lol. I’m a water colorist and I’m jumping with joy on these puppies. They hold water and pigment very well, they have GREAT shape and bounce, steady thin to thick line (but soft enough) absolutely thrilled. And the price was also amazing. Very happy thank you!!

Oh my goodness I cannot believe how amazing these brushes are AMAZING! They hold the water so so well. They put my other brushes to shame. Even if they don’t last long they’re well worth it. But honestly, I didn’t even have any shedding. New favorite brushes. Hands down.

*update* I was fully expecting to come back on here in a week or so to update my review cause surly the bristles would fall apart by now…if I could give these brushes 10 stars I would. I even used one of the brushes on some frisket and realized the glue was drying too fast to the bristles. I scratched at and pulled on those bristles to get the frisket and it held up so so nicely. Seriously please keep making these. Amazon paint brushes are such a gamble!

These brushes came in a package with explicit directions for care. I have followed them and I am super psyched on the quality especially for the price. I’m a painter by hobby. I’m not bad but I’m not particularly good either. I paint frequently enough to want to invest in excellent paint and decent brushes. These are great if you don’t mind caring for them. These brushes absorb/hold water well, my lines are exact when I want them to be, broad strokes distribute paint evenly. I highly recommend for the occasional painter.

After using these brushes for maybe half a dozen gouache paintings, most of them became unusable. The fine tips on all the brushes disappeared and became too easily frayed, and a few of the brushes began to have the bristles shed while painting. Not sure what the reasoning behind this was, but I had to dispose of them and use other brushes.

I’m new to watercolor painting so I’m no expert. However in my non-expert opinion here are the pros and cons I have with these brushes.

Pros: They are affordable and come in a range of sizes. They seem to do what they are meant to do (lay paint down on paper). They look sleek and elegant.

Cons: They don’t keep their pointed shape very long. I’ve had them a couple weeks now and my most used brushes are no longer pointed so fine lines are more difficult or impossible. One of my finials was loose right out of the package. The rose gold finish comes off on your fingers while you are painting. I’m not sure how accurate the sizes are compared to standard brush sizes.

They aren’t perfect but for a beginner set I think these are good. They give decent results and you’ll learn what is important to you to look for when investing in a nicer set. After you upgrade these will still be useful for other applications like painting with a friend or child or applying masking fluid.

Buen producto, a comparación de otras brochas estas son suaves y no tiran pelo, conservan la forma (depende mucho del cuidado que uno les de), el color lo distribuye bien del pigmento, sin olvidar la variedad de tamaños!

I used one of the brushes for the first time after receiving the package and it IMMEDIATELY started shedding. I was using watercolor paints so I wasn’t applyong much pressure at all and it lost a ton of hairs. I do not want to use any of the brushes again after trying that one.

I’m not very experienced with watercolor, but I’m learning. I have some Taklon brushes but I find they don’t hold much so they aren’t so good for washes. I ordered these brushes because they are cheap and they are made from real hair, which means they should hold more water.

Oh. My. Goodness. Do they ever hold water.

These brushes are great. They are my go-to brushed and they have helped me learn to create amazing washes.

I would guess that the reviewers here who are having issues with the brushes… well, you have to follow the directions on the back of the packaging. These are shipped with something like gum arabic or some other starch in the bristles to protect them during shipping, and it is imperative that you remove this completely before painting with lukewarm (NOT HOT) water. I’ve been using my brushes for a couple weeks now and I haven’t seen a single hair come out. For the price, you can’t do better than this.
