Got the glove on-time and it’s nice and big. I have a good sized adult hand and it fits me fine. However, it’s not near 90% broken in. I’d say 60% at best. Another coach put it on and said, “it’s pretty stiff, will need plenty of catch first..”

Seems like a nice glove and has a nice size to it.

I needed a catcher’s mitt because my 11 year old son now pitches with a stinging velocity. My cheap infielder’s glove wasn’t providing enough padding.

I have almost precisely zero experience in using a catcher’s mitt. In fact, the last rare occasion was almost 17 years prior. My point is, I didn’t expect myself to field like Johnny Bench.

But the glove was usable on arrival, almost completely broken in, as advertised. I was immediately able to make passable use of it. For the record, my 11 year old son felt it was not usable for him at that stage. He was uncomfortable squeezing it, and I’m sure it’s about his hand size. Still, the whole point is that he’s the one pitching, so that wasn’t a disappointment, just a sizing note. This size fits better to the needs of teens or average size adults. Professionally, I wear medical gloves on a daily basis: I use the “large” size which is average for adult men and it fits nicely. I’ve got shorter fingers, but wide palms.

The leather feels nice. There was one small blemish in the pocket that would have been disappointing if I had ordered it for a gift, but it cleaned up nicely with some generic leather conditioner (y’know the kind that comes in a shoe polish can). But a gift wasn’t my goal; I needed it for catching sinkers right away. And it worked for that.

Glove is very nice with good amount of padding. Not really 90% broken in as advertised. Was actually quite stiff but wasn’t really too big of a problem. Using this for high school baseball. Overall a great glove!

I Recieved it and quick conditioning then hit it with break-in mallet for past twenty minutes. This leather is actually much better than expected. Too bad inside palm area is pu but can’t ask too much for $$ I paid for this. I have a large sized glove and it fits awesome. True to spec length and deep pocket for 12.75″. I expect to use it mainly for my softball league but this is an awesome product. Even though I own wilson a2k, a1000, and rawlings HOH, I paid so much for them. Break in is about 20-30% without baseball mallet. I expect this sandlot to last me at least double digit years feeling the leather shell, hoping inside palm area holds up. Excellent product from rawlings. Brings back the memory from my elementary years when I got my very first glove. Highly recommend it.

I’m a Rec and travel ball coach, my old glove just completely disintegrated so I had to get a new one. Otherwise I would’ve died with that one. This glove is great for a coach and for many players as well. There are better and more expensive gloves that I would definitely buy if I was playing but this glove is perfect for a coach. When the kids hit 9-12 years and they are serious about ⚾️ it’s time to invest in a nakona. There are others but supposrting small business is more my cup of tee than supporting products made oversees.

Good price for this trapper but for a bit more money you can get a much better quality glove. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice glove with zero issues except that the leather is thin especially in the pocket area and the glove doesn’t have much too it. I don’t use it much beyond playing catch. I would say this would be a great softball glove but wouldn’t use it for hardball.

I liked the two tone color on the glove, it’s a draw for me. I haven’t use the glove yet but I have played ball long enough to say, this glove comes just about as stiff as any other glove you pickup off the shelf. That being said it’s not as bad as I expected. I’ve used Rawlings products for over a decade now and every glove has stood up to the test of time, they are called the Gold Glove company for a reason. Went with the standard 12.5 inches for most 1st base gloves and I’m excited to try it. You seriously won’t find many better options under $75 on the market that provide durability with a good feel and great look.

Being a former division 1 baseball player, having owned and used many gloves. I have to say this is an excellent product and the price is one of the best parts. I bought this to help teach and play catch with my 7 year old son. This glove is of similar quality to the high end $200 and up gloves. Quick and easy to break in yet has excellent padding in the palm and fingers. I’ll be purchasing another for my son when he has outgrown his current youth glove.

Absolutely great ball glove for the money. I don’t ever see a need for a glove that cost more that 100$. Unless you’re a pro and don’t care about throwing money on a glove. I have been playing baseball for 25 years. Youth ball all the way through Division 1 college ball. This glove will last many seasons. I promise. Rawlings is hard to beat. And I’m not sure why some people don’t think this glove is not pre broken in. They must have never owned an expensive glove like an A2000. Those are like rocks when you first get them. This glove is comfortable and ready to go right out of the box.

I bought this glove primarily to play catch with my son, and for using as an assistant coach for a little league team. My very old glove finally bit the dust and I decided to try the Rawlings Sandlot.
It comes partially broken in, and is certainly usable right away, but still needs a little more work to really feel smooth. But isn’t that the case for pretty much any decent glove?
Anyway, after using it for a few days I can honestly say it has softened up nicely (I helped it along with some glove oil) and I feel very comfortable using it.
Its a really great looking glove, and the 12.75″ version is big, but not too big for my average size hand. The quality of the glove lacing and leather seems very good, especially at this price point.
You can certainly spend $300 or more on a glove if you like, but for most purposes, this one is more than adequate. I’m quite happy with my purchase and the value for how little this glove costs is great.

Love this glove . They say 10% break in needed well that about right. Been playing catch with my 8 year old and using a rebounder, and it’s nice and comfortable now. Only had it about a week.
