I like this gadget. It does everything you’d expect it to, and it does it very well indeed. You get the feeling that a lot of thought went in to the design of the thing: I especially like the permanently attached, wrap-round USB connector (because I’m an expert in losing USB connector cables that aren’t permanently fitted) and the options available for simply hanging the device, or attaching it to anything metal by means of magnets. It’s very bright on the highest setting, and more than good enough to cover most bases on the second one. I doubt there are many people with normal eyes who would be comfortable looking directly at the light source, I tried and got spots in front of my eyes.

As with almost all torches these days – at least the ones I’ve come across – there is a third setting which makes the light blink on and off before you can actually turn it off. I find that to be entirely redundant but since it doesn’t effect the overall usefulness of the lamp I’d call it a minor irritation. There probably are circumstances when a blinking light might actually be useful, but I can’t think of any. Given a choice between a lamp that blinks and one that doesn’t, I’d opt for the one that doesn’t all day long.

One other thing that might be worth mentioning – in the lamp I have there is something loose inside it which rattle about like a dried pea in a jar. If this in any way adversely effects the thing I have yet to find out how. But something loose and rattling about rarely turns out to be a good thing, does it?

Finally, I like the idea of it doubling as a power bank on the theory that it’s better to have the option and not use use it, than need it and not have it. I have yet to try it out.

So full marks from me, for a handy, versatile and capable little device

Lovely little light, which has a real quality design and feel to it. It is well thought out and the light output is impressive, both in power and the quality of the light, which has a warm soft tone and is not harsh white like so many LED lights.
I would estimate that the high output is equivalent to a 40watt household bulb and the low about a 25-30 watt.
I am impressed with the overall design. How the charging cable is integrated into the light. The battery charge remaining indicator and the design of the hooks and magnetic base.
Small in size, but big on output and features. You will not be disappointed.

I am a camp a holic , I have 3 camping lanterns, 1 Coleman propane that is pretty much retired , but at the ready if needed, 1 battery operated Streamlight Siege and 1 Tough light rechargeable, all great lanterns. I have decided to go all rechargeable to eliminate packing propane and batteries or forgetting them , between the camper and the Grand Cherokee I have 5 accessory ports so why not use them ? I have plenty USB
    adaptors,
So enter the LE portable camping lantern, I’m on the 5 star band wagon !! here is what I like , the size is perfect, the brightness for this little light
is more than adequate , the built in always accessible USB cable is great , the metal base is tough, all the electronics (switches, charging status and power bank ports ) are easy to access and here at least for me is what may be it’s best attribute , those two METAL hooks , the competition
all seem to have plastic hooks which for me has always been a problem (they break) and almost forgot those magnets are plenty strong !!
my intention for this light is more as a emergency light to keep in the console of the Jeep, but I think it I may work its way into camping use in some capacity, I have three daughters and their each getting one for Christmas to either keep in their homes or cars.
Now all that being said I wish the run time on the high setting was a little longer ( the technology is available) but I’m not considering that a con
at this price point you would have to search very hard to beat this awesome little light !!!

     Pro’s:
    – So much utility in this product- lantern & a power bank all in one
    – Much brighter than any of my other lantern lights
    – Magnets and rings make it easy to mount in a variety of situations

    Con’s:
    – A bit heavy

Ok, let me start by saying that I own 3 other lantern type lights. Of all of my lantern lights, this is by far my favorite. It is super bright- much brighter than any of my other lanterns. It just has so much utility to it too. Having its own power bank built right into it to charge my other items is an awesome feature. On a weekend hike, I can forego hauling an extra power bank to charge my phone. This will do that job for me just fine. This is a super handy feature to have!

I also like its built in magnets and rings on the top. The magnets make it great for sticking on the sides of metal shelves or up under the hood of the car if you are working on the engine and need extra light. The top rings are great for mounting the ring while camping. They allow you to hang it from tree branches or loops inside your tent. Again, this light just has so much utility.

The only downside to this light is that it is a bit heavy. This is due to the fact that it has a built in power bank. It is not super heavy to be bothersome. However, it is not going to be a light you want to take on a section hike where you are counting ounces and trying to get your pack as light as possible. That is not the intended purpose of this light, so I’m not complaining about this at all.

Overall, this is an awesome light. Seriously, it’s one of my favorite gear finds. I highly recommend this to you.

This product, by coincidence, arrived on a stormy day. We lost power. It gave me a chance to assess this product in a real life situation. Right out of the box, i attached this tiny lantern to the metal hing on a doorway between two rooms using the magnets. It stayed there, set at medium intensity, lighting the way, for at least 18 hours. It is sturdy and well built. The charging cord is built in and attached to the lantern. So you will always have it ready to use. I’ve already recommended this product to others. I was impressed that it was fully charged when it arrived. The magnets were strong and held the lantern exactly where I wanted it to be during the overnight power failure. Highly recommended.

Recently purchased this for an upcoming camping trip. It was smaller than I imagined however it seems really well made.
The light has three modes accessed using the power on button (just click between the modes: on/bright, dim, flashing, off.)
It has two separate hooks that form a loop when both pulled up.
The port for a USB (when using the light as a charging bank) has a silicone lid on it to keep moisture and muck out of it.
The USB charging cord wraps nicely around the lamp and clips into place. When extended it is about 6″ long.
I cannot comment on how well this works as a power bank as I only purchased to use as a tent light, however I think for that ends it is definitely fit for purpose.

UPDATE: Have just returned from a week long camping trip. We charged it once before going. It was used every evening for a couple hours and not once did we have to charge it the whole trip. In fact there is still charge left.
We will defo be purchasing a second.

I have tested the light by leaving it on and seeing how long it takes to go out. 11 hours on low.
Low in the case of this light is easily enough to light up a room enough to see into every corner. The whole of my bathroom, which has no windows. Great to read by and the diffuse nature of the light makes it very comfortable to read by.
I have a large roof tent and it totally lights up the tent with a comfortable light which makes reading, getting dressed/undressed a breeze.
So pleased I bought one for my mother and another for a friend. I may also be buying myself another one.
Oh and one more thing. I can hook it up to a power bank to further increase the running time.
    Seriously, buy one. Or more….

Initially bought for camping, after a long period of buying expensive and branded goods and being desperately disappointed with the results, we now use this little light all the time! It’s amazing – stunningly bright, easily recharged.
    Features I particularly love:
incremental gauge of power: no more light suddenly dying and you can see how far along in charging it is!
Brightness: the brightest light we’ve had by far and we wouldn’t want it any brighter!
The choices of dimmer light to make the brightness more comfortable in the evenings and the battery lasts even longer.
I haven’t tried to charge anything with it, but when I do I’ll update my review.
Really impressed by this – wouldn’t buy a different one now, and the price (just short of £15 at present) is amazing.

This is, by far, the best little purchase I have made. I bought this little gem about 2 years ago. Back when it was 25$ on amazon. This thing has been so extremely useful to me. I lived on a hippy commune without much lighting, so this guy was my sole source of light everywhere at night. The metal clips on it are super easy to put on just about anything. And I love the magnets on it for when I’m near something metal. (Cause, yes, the magnets are super strong and stick to refrigerators, cars, silverware, etc.)

The battery is also really dang good. When I first got it, the life from full to dead was probably more than 6 hours. As I have used it, I have noticed that longevity has dwindled, but not by much. Maybe it takes 4 hours to drain it now on the second setting. Which, btw, unless you’re wanting to blind somebody the first brightest setting is /way/ too bright. I recommend just using the second one after having used it for two years and never had a problem with the lower setting. Also, it makes me feel a lot safer at night knowing I have an easy SOS signally device. It really works well.

I have used the charging capability of it to charge my phone a little, but it’s a slow charge. I see it as only being in an emergency situation.

Now, two issues I have had with it. First, it is vaguely in the shape of a ball, so it can be easy to drop. I have dropped it maybe five times in its life, once catastrophically so. The plastic protective cover came off and exposed the little LED lights inside. Otherwise the function of it is still very good. It was an easy fix with some packing tape. I have dropped it since and not had any issues, but you can see the glaring crack in it.

Second, the usb charging cord on it is just too short. I wish there had been something made to make that longer. I always have some awkward coordinating when I want to plug it into a wall outlet/usb that is too high off the ground or doesn’t have a convenient ledge to place it on. (Or a convenient metal wall radiator.)

All in all, I love this thing. I have used it outside, inside, underground, in the rain, camping, and across states. I’m probably going to buy another one to supplement my off-grid needs.

Would buy again, would recommend. 10/10
