5 Second Rule Disney Edition — Fun Family Game About Your Favorite Disney Characters — Ages 6+

This game is fun but can be difficult if you don’t watch many Disney Movies. Our nephews loved the original five second rule but they needed a lot of help to answer questions. I was surprised how well they played this game. They really seemed to enjoy it although we did have their aunt remove questions from movies they haven’t seen.

Game Play:
Each person gets one card read to them, the timer is flipped and they have five seconds to name the three items described in the card. It typically isn’t a hard question, its just hard to think quick enough to say them in 5 seconds (or 10 seconds if on the 5+5 spot) If that person answers correctly they advance one spot. If they answer incorrectly one by one each person to the left can try to answer in 5 seconds but can’t re-use any previously mentioned answers. If they answer correctly they can advance one spot on the board and the next question card will be read to the person directly to the left of the first player to try to answer the last card. The game ends when someone reaches the finish on the board.

Non-Disney Adults + Kids = Fair play
Luckily in my household the kids (nephews) are the experts and the adults aren’t so much so it actually work out pretty fairly to play with adults and kids, where typically the adults would have to try to throw a few questions.

Final thoughts: This game is easy to teach and very fun to play in a group. I highly recommend it for Disney fans of all ages.

My grandkids, like most children, love Disney. This was a fun game to play with them. I will say that we didn’t do the timer with the younger children. With my older grandkids it would be fine but I didn’t want them to feel too pressured since they are younger. Naturally, there are all sorts of adaptations you can make to the game with younger kids. The rules are at baseline straightforward and simple. I find the game to be very easy to play. It’s also a fast paced game if it’s played exactly like the instructions say. The cards are going to definitely be the easiest for people who are the most familiar with Disney. I feel like there are so many choices and so many options that this game is just an absolute delight to play with the kids. I have been pleased with this Disney themed game and we have really had a lot of fun with it. I love being able to add games to my game closet that the younger grandkids can play too.

Product arrived in new, unopened condition as expected–all pieces accounted for. If you’re a “downsizer”, this game could be downsized to a smaller container. It’s designed as a board game, but could easily adapt to simply a trivia-type game without the board, such as for in the car or other moments for quick boredom relief. It says for ages 6 and up, but if a child is younger than 6 and knows their Disney movies, they too could participate in some fashion (we have a toddler in the family who thinks fast and knows Disney!) since the rules are adaptable. A word of warning on the timing device provided: it has a strange (and increasingly annoying) squeak sound when reset intended to be fun but if that’s not your idea of fun, just use another timing device like your phone or other stop watch. Overall a great addition to our game collection!
