I bought the Yeti Nano to replace the cheap Aukey/Neweer/Generic mic I had previously purchased. The audio quality is night and day. Before I had to record my voiceover and then edit it in Audition to try and get rid of the noise and make it loud enough. Now with the Yeti I can record straight into Premiere and do literally NOTHING to the audio. I saved so much time in one video I’ve been kicking myself for buying the cheap mic in the first place.

This product was simply because I wanted a microphone to go with my new studio headphones for both gaming and business calls. The stand is amazing, almost entirely made of metal with a plastic clamp system to screw it onto the microphone. I removed mine from the stand and put it onto a boom arm using the supplied adaptor to the standard thread. The sound quality is perfect, maybe there could be more controls in the software however it is a USB microphone, if you need to have more control over the EQ and other effects, get an XLR with a mixer and that will be far more benefitial.

Negatives are that the microphone has very little adjustment on the boom arm, there is no way to angle it exactly as you want unless mounted directly 90 degrees from your face. Also, it is a little unfortunate that the volume button on the microphone is for headphones as I have studio headphones that are wired into an amplifier instead so it is not used at all. Finally, the mute button is often hard to press resulting in the mic picking up noise and that being very loud for anyone on the other end.

This microphone is not intended for studio use and is good for YouTube voice overs, gaming, streaming, Skype, discord and other social media however would struggle as a podcast mic or for recording vocals.
    Hope that helps.

Fantastic microphone for recording and podcasting. I’ve used a borrowed Yeti for a couple years and it was amazing. When I had to give it back, I looked for an alternative, and this model had just come out. My relatively amateur ear can hear that this is a quality mic with quality sound, and I honestly can’t really tell the difference between my recordings with the Yeti and the Yeti Nano. I got a cheap boom mic and am so happy with the results. If you’re someone that is looking to up the quality of your sound, but wondering if you need to go ‘full Yeti’ for the few extra features (extra condenser, a few other sound modes) you probably don’t need anything more than this. Plus the form factor is HUGE. It’s a lot less obtrusive, and stores much easier. For me there is no appreciable quality difference and a huge gain in practicality for ~30% less than the Yeti.

Zuallererst, ja der Titel ist wichtig! Denn so habe ich leider meinen guten Warehouse Deal wieder zurückgesendet und mir eine komplett neue (30€ teurere) Version über Amazon bestellt. Was war geschehen?

Both microphones were refurbished. Poorly, might I add.

When the first one arrived I could tell that it was refurbished. There was hair BENEATH the sticker and it was very poorly placed NEXT TO the one that was removed, how could I tell? I could still see the residue the original left. Once I took it out of the packaging, the mic was scuffed. It worked for about a second before the software BLUE TELL YOU TO DOWNLOAD! stated it needed to update the mic before I could use the software. The update failed as it couldn’t connect to the server and instead of restoring the mic out of update mode it BRICKED it. Making it useless.

Okay at this point you might be thinking that it was a faulty mic. I did too, Amazon’s lovely tech support sent a replacement.

AGAIN it was a poor refurbish job. Skipping forward. I plugged the mic in, Blue Sherpa told me that it needed to update the mic and BOOM same again IT BRICKED THIS MIC AS WELL. My advice to anyone would be to go with anyone else, literally anyone other than Blue. On another note, I attempted to contact them for support and they just ignored me. I even called them (They only have a US number by the way.) and they refused to help, they said to just get a refund.

Amazon to the rescue again and offered to refund me as soon as they receive the mic.

I also have pictures of the packaging that I can provide, if anyone wants to see how bad they are at packing.

    TL:DR
DON’T buy Blue products, DON’T try and contact Blue tech support, BUY any other mic that is not from Blue.
Blue clearly don’t care about the product or the customer.

NOTE: Blue Yeti Microphones are excellent, just not this style called Nano. Their original bigger ones are fantastic.

So I bought a new computer and hooked this POS to it. At first everything was good. Where my beautiful silver blue yeti was consistent, sounded amazing and reliable, this crap heap was everything but.

Then I used it for a Zoom meeting. The audio would pop to a point where it was loud and high treble, then it would pop into this dulled bass like sound.

I downloaded the driver and the new “firmware” for it and it made it worse.

After 3 months of screwing around with it, spending over an hour of time reading and researching, I have come up with nothing,. The reddit thread I was reading said, “Well, your only real option is position yourself 45 degrees to the microphone to get a decent level of voice so it doesn’t get blown out or too soft.

Yeah we are to a point where I have to sit, perfectly still and make sure I am talking at a 45 degree angle. You know what EFF THAT.

The audio jack / headphones was a pure waste. Every single time I turned on my computer, I had to run a scan or reinstall drivers to get this to work. Tried different drivers, used different headphones, tried another jack to make sure it is not just the headphones or something. Nope its this POS.

WARNING: This is a known issue that they have yet to fix.

I am seriously disappointed with this thing. Its much to far along since I purchased it to get my money back so I am just hoping someone can read this and they can save themselves from buying this and @#$% with it for months until they realize its garbage.

This microphone is amazing, i highly recommend buying this mic, its quality like its big brother the yeti. Its smaller than the yeti thats for sure. If you want to get a feel for this mic search on youtube: yeti nano cubano gold Julian Lonzoe. This mic has two settings: omnidirectional and cardioid, which is perfect for podcasting, streaming, or youtube. It looks amazing in gold, search my channel on youtube: Julian Lonzoe, i will have a review up soon.

I purchased this as an upgrade from my Blue Snowball iCE but when I opened the box I immediately noticed the emblem completely detatched…it didn’t look like this was something that was dislodged during shipping but rather something that was done poorly in production, I might put some super glue on it or just return it, I haven’t decided. The volume knob also feels floaty and has a lot of side to side play…The knobs on the side are also as others have described and just feel flimsy, you can’t really tighten them and this is something that concerns me over time and many tilts of the microphone. The actual sound quality is very nice and better than the snowball but the build quality is definitely worse. I have also ordered a regular sized Yeti (expected tomorrow) so I may update this review after seeing the quality on that, but I must say this was a huge disappointment for me, I expected more from Blue for $99.

I’ve been using a full sized Blue Yeti for years, and love everything about it EXCEPT for the size. The Yeti Nano is PERFECT for my everyday use. The recorded sound is excellent, the size makes it easier to move around on my LyxPro DKR-1 Adjustable Microphone Suspension Scissor Boom Arm, and the Blue Sherpa software controls are pretty handy. This is a great microphone.

Don’t use this for teamspeak while gaming unless you’re in a QUIET room. I tried and tried to get my settings right, but I went back to my headset mic right away.. I REALLY wanted this to work for my use case, but it didn’t.

The media could not be loaded.

In their first product release since announcement of Logitech buying them out, Blue have released the “Yeti Nano” – a smaller partner to the prolific Blue Yeti microphone. The Yeti Nano comes in many cool colors, offers cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns, and realtime monitoring at a… confusing price.

It’s a decent mic, but I feel like better audio setups could be acquired with cheaper and more flexible configurations.

    Would be a good plug-and-play office/conference mic.

The size of the mic is great, it looks nice, and the stand is very nice. Audio quality is really good especially when you tweak it a bit in post. I’ve included some sample audio without and then with noise removal. I’ll most likely be switching from a blue spark and audio interface to just this as the audio is good enough and I don’t want to deal with so many cables anymore.

Packing, appearance, delivery – all excellent. Some notes (from a ‘non-specialist’ trying to get the best from the mic …)

    1. Even set on cardiod mode, expect (a lot!) of audible noise from your keyboard and general computer sounds like fan noise. (‘Workarounds’ to get rid of this are really tedious, mostly involving ‘after-editing’ being necessary, or installing interfaces for editing etc.) I am going to try a boom arm to hang the mic, to see if this helps. (Will report back.) My keyboard is not a loud one and using a recording head-set, almost no keyboard or computer noise gets picked up. I know that this is an open mic, so an entirely different beast, but …
    2. Reasonably quiet for recording otherwise, with warm, but crisp, clean and well-balanced sound. Nice!
    3. Size – OK. (The non-nano Blue Yeti looks gigantic and clumsy compared to the nano!)
    4. Sound settings – be aware of the following:
    – There is no ‘Gain’ dial on this model. Online instructions you might find for the non-nano version of Blue Yeti (with ‘Gain’ dial) may be confusing and/or lead you into unnecessary complications as you work with the sound – expect to find lots of contradictory advice on YouTube, for example.
    – On Windows – advise that you take the time to learn how to tweak the sound through the main Control Panel before trying anything more complex.
    – The mic will not work without monitor earphones or earbuds plugged into the 3.5mm on the body of the mic itself. So if you just want to simply record your voice into the computer without needing to monitor it, and without being online etc … you’ll still need to have earphones/earbuds plugged in. (For most normal use, you don’t really need to monitor, so I’m not sure how useful this is, at all.)
    – Consider installing OBS software if you’ll be using the mic for voice-over or live streaming. – it will give you visible and accessible ‘tweak controls’ while you’re working.
    – BEWARE ‘Blue Sherpa’ (Beta version), available from the Blue website as a free download – ostensibly for tweaking mic sound. Had lots of problems with it not recognising the mic, and it may have been responsible for a bizarre computer fault where PC randomly went into ‘sleep’ mode. This fault did not recur once I’d uninstalled ‘Blue Sherpa’.

Update: Boom arm did not really help control keyboard noise, to my disappointment. The shock-mount was way too small (HAUEA).
Conclusion: To really get the best from this mic, for my purposes, I’d probably have to invest another £100 or so, to get a branded shock-mount and boom arm. Not sure it’s worth it…
