Love this set! I’ve started doing my own nails again and this has all the colors/shades I need. I do think the solid colors are a little thinner than other gel brands I’ve used but I’ve learned to just apply an extra coat. I’m looking forward to purchasing other sets from Beetles.

I was surprised by the absolute garbage quality of the polishes. I bought this kit because I was super excited to use the matte topcoat. However, it was terrible. The topcoat was chunky and full of solid pieces, went on incredibly uneven. The same was true for the base coat in this set, plus the base coat’s brush was rock hard. In my pictures, you will see the chunks that came out of the matte topcoat as well as what the matte polish brush looks like. Is this the standard to which Beetle holds themselves? I included a picture of the only two nails I got done (they’re near the UV light so you can see the chunky texture caused by the topcoat).
Additionally, despite using Beetle gel polishes before, the matte topcoat seriously burned my fingers (and I was using the beetles latex cuticle guard!). I had to rip the polish off by hand, which is damaging to my nails. Utter disappointment.
Edited to add: I swatched all of the polishes in this set on a plastic bag. They were smooth. I tested three on my nails and all were chunky, even with using the beetles base gel from a previously purchased set. Sounds like the base and top coats are terrible quality.

COVID-19 has definately improved my skill set in DIY gel nails at home.
Arrived on time and packaged well.
The colors are vibrant and easy to apply that will last 2-3 weeks if done correctly.
Pick out color(s) before you begin and roll the polish(es) in between hands to warm up the gel.
Important: Prep the nails- soak, gently push back cuticles, trim if needed, file in one direction not back and forth, lightly buff, apply alcohol to remove oil and residue, and then apply bonder to tips cure for 10 secs.
Start with your non dominant hand first. Try not to touch cuticles!! Apply thin base coat cure 1 min., color 2xs cure 1 min each, and top coat 2 mins. Wipe or spray with alcohol. Repeat with the other hand. Apply cuticle oil or my preference vitamin e. **Please note the lighter colors like gray may need 3 coats.
I always get compliments. You can’t beat the price and worth every penny. I love that the bottles are labeled. My nails picture are one week and two days old that lasted through extensive handwashing at work, household chores, and yardwork.
No chipping or lifting!!!

First of all I would like to emphasize that when used as directed, this product performs really well and I would recommend to anyone who would like to do gel nails at home.
I gave the product four stars instead of five because some of the pigment isn’t very good and it took me three coats to achieve the proper color with some of the colors (the brighter colors).
As far as durability, I can’t tell the difference between a salon gel and this gel! the bottles are smallish, but overall it’s a steal for the cost when compared to professional polishes which are expensive.
I did want to mention something regarding the curing process since other reviews have mentioned the polish not “curing”. Each coat is fairly soft leading up to the finishing top coat, but once you apply the top coat the nail’s surface is hard and cured perfectly. If you follow the enclosed instructions (buff nail, base coat, color coat, and top coat) you should have a perfect manicure every time.
The things I loved most about this nail polish set was that it included the base and top coats (it also included a beautiful matte top coat that I’m in love with)

I was dreaming of getting this set cause I love all the colors! I had a couple other beetles gel polishes and base so I knew what quality to expect. I do my own nails and I love this brand. The colors are bright and very good pigmented. They are not too liquidy or too thick – just right! They lever good and with some colors (especially sparkles) one layer is enough. Pastels usually require two layers but that’s ok. This set has tiny little bottle of 5ml each + 7ml base and tops. But It’s totally fine for home use. All the polishes were well packed into foamy padding but I removed it all. The box is good size too. Now I use it for storage of all the gel polished I have.

I had previously ordered the starter kit with the UV light and loved the nail polish that came with it . So i ordered these colors from the same brand and they are NOT the same. They are super watery and runny. I had to do three coats just to get the color! And with the other ones that came with the kit were pigment and thick. Im so disappointed with these. And the bottles are super tiny. Definitely wont be buying anymore colors .

This is the best DIY gel polish I have ever used. One coat foundation, 2 coats desired color, one coat no wipe top coat and it lasts. I have had the same polish one for 10 days as of now, used scotch brite scrub pads to complete housecleaning several times, and not a single nail has polish lifting or separating. I HIGHLY recommend this brand and have already made more purchases of different colors since. The polish has a thicker consistency and only requires 2 color coats, even for the lighter shades. The glitter polishes only require one coat over solid colors or 2 coats when used alone. The attached photo shows the nails after 10 days of wear and cleaning.
I used to pay quite a bit for Gelish brand and it never lasted more than 5-7 days without it peeling up and coming off. I have found my favorite brand that is well worth the price. Best part, there’s no sticky residue left on the top coat!
